Mountain Art

Rugged, ancient and beautiful.

Tasmania's mountains have real character and beauty.  They seem to be crumbling away and I suppose they are.  There aren't many truly flat areas in Tasmania and this makes painting mountains a perfect subject.  I am very excited to bring to the viewer a kind of rawness and beauty of these majestic landmarks.  Of course winter is the most striking time in Tasmania, making for some cold expeditions with a sketchpad and camera in hand.

Capturing the white snow caps under warm light is a real privilege for me.
